
St. Mariam Thresia

St. Mariam Thresia (1876-1926) was an Indian mystic and founder of the Congregation of the Holy Family. She was born in Puthenchira, Thrissur district in the Indian state of Kerala, and from a young age, she was known for her piety and devotion to God.
Mariam Thresia experienced many mystical visions and received messages from God throughout her life. She devoted herself to prayer and contemplation, and her spiritual insights inspired her to found a religious congregation dedicated to the service of the poor, sick, and marginalized.
St. Mariam Thresia was canonized by Pope Francis in 2019, becoming the fourth saint from India. She is celebrated for her dedication to God, her deep love for the poor and suffering, and her commitment to serving others with humility and compassion. Her legacy continues to inspire people around the world to live lives of faith, service, and devotion.
